One of the widely acclaimed party capitals if Europe, Barcelona can be equally appealing to couples in search of intimacy and romanticism. Its historic districts, sidewalk cafes and beaches are just a few of the places sought by couples. And just like Paris or Rome, Barcelona is itself a romantic city, a place with a distinctive, unique atmosphere. Although we all have different ideas of what romanticism means, here’s our choice of the top most romantic Barcelona attractions:

Montjuic

Barcelona’s best known observation point, Montjuic makes a fabulous choice for an evening stroll. Enjoying the city lights together with your better half is as romantic as it gets, and most certainly you won’t be disappointed by the view. But there is more at Montjuic: during summer, open air film screenings are organized in the court of Barcelona castle. Also, the Magic Fountains of Montjuicwill mesmerize you with their show of perfectly coordinated water jets, music and lights.

Parc Guell

Although this famous Barcelona park designed by Antoni Gaudi might be a little to busy for some couples, it can still be regarded as a romantic Barcelona spot. Some might even say that Parc Guell represents for Barcelona lovers what the Eiffel tower means to couples in Paris. It’s a great place to hang out, watch the passers-by and take some fabulous pictures from your romantic vacation.

El Tablao de Carmen

El Tablao de Carmen is one of the best places in Barcelona to watch an authentic flamenco show. The venue combines fine dining with watching a passionate flamenco representation, in the scenic  proximity of Montjuic. Shows take place 2 times a day with the exception of Monday, and you’ll also get free admission to Pueblo Espanol, Barcelona’s village museum.

Vinoteca Torres

Those looking for a nice place to dine out, or maybe even propose :), might want to try this well-known Barcelona restaurant. As the name tells you, the restaurant is known mostly for its impressive wine collection. However, their menu is also very diverse, including special gourmet packages, which allow you to sample several dishes and wines.

Aire de Barcelona

Since Barcelona’s beaches are too busy to qualify as romantic, you can substitute a stroll on the beach with a spa session at the historic Aire baths. Here you can experience the relaxing atmosphere of traditional Arab baths, and let professional massage and aromatherapy sessions bring you one step closer to nirvana.
